Treatment of dialysis or hemodialysis in patients with kidney failure not only can be done in the hospital, but also can be done at home. However, the method is still rarely used in Indonesia. The method is called continous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD).
Dr. Krisna Yetti S.Kp., M.App.Sc, lecture Faculty of Nursing Universitas Indonesia and Chairman of the Nursing and Ethics Council of Nursing Association of Indonesian National Nurses (MKEK PPNI), in general lecture Master of Nursing UMY, also said that the method of dialysis at home more efficient and does not take much time because it does not need to come to the hospital.
The public lecture was held on May 5, 2018 at Postgraduate Building 3rd floor of UMY, who attended by 12 students from various concentration. Besides hemodialysis, Dr. Krisna Yetti also described the urinary system that includes the functions of excretion and nephrons.
